Are these little cameras worth the money?

I have the version 1 and use it on a few of my quads, and I like it. Good enough for what I use it for. The only thing I haven't had time to figure out is how to change the time/date to current. Maybe the version 2 is easier to do that with... What will you use it for? That is the question that determines if it is worth the money...

Would you please if you have time tell me more about the camera, things like storage, how you xfer video off the camera, battery usage. This project has been in the works for a very long time would like to mount it in the grill of my car and have it powered by the 12VDC battery. Possible hanging off of an IOT device.

Storage is based on micro SD cards, not sure what the max capacity it can handle. I'd assume 64GB, but check the specs. To transfer just pop out the card and throw it into a card reader on your PC. They are pretty decent. They are sort of the go-to camera for quads. Here is a video of the version 1 on one of my quads. 2 things to keep in mind: 1. This was just plopped onto my quad, so there's no vibration reduction so the video has a little jello... and 2. I am a REALLY crappy pilot, so don't laugh too much...

Ken Jancef Both of your videos were fun to watch and the crashing was an extra bonus. Must admit the second video "Robocat first outdoor flight" was the clearest video.

Nice to have an open spot where you can fly your quad. Added feature assuming your son as a spotter.

The flight time was about 3:28 from what I could gather and was wondering what size the file was when you downloaded it?

How much flight time does the camera take from your fight time?

Thank you for taking the time to post the video and help. Happy and safe flying.

The camera has its own rechargeable battery, so it wasn't connected to any power at all. But being that you say you want to hard-wire it, you shouldn't have an issue. I'm not sure of file size since I'm at work and the files are at home.

If you weren't going to hang it off of an IoT device, your best bet would be a dashcam. I have the Viofo A119S, and it works great, I have it mounted inside my windshield just above the rear view mirror. And it overwrites the files when the card fills up... I use a 32GB micro SD card and I can get about 3 days of recordings on it, file sizes are about 1GB or so, but it also records at 1080p/60.
