G+_Rud Dog
Rud Dog Update. The replacement of the drives did not fix the pixelation problem. There is one burning question in need of a solution and it pertains to the cloning of the drive. Can any one tell why the 360MB drive when cloned onto a 1TB only used 360MBS of its capacity? Loaded Plex on a computer and testing the free version.
G+_Black Merc
Rud Dog two posables... The cloning copied exactly the 360mb/gb drive data and left the remaining disk space unused. Or firmware is hard coded to have a 360mb /gb drive.
G+_Rud Dog
Black Merc on the subject of "hard coded" it seems to be what a company would do if they did't want us to just copy the drive.
G+_Black Merc
Rud Dog firmware writen to only use that size drive to require you to upgrade to the next hardware or get replacements from the co. That's all i meant.
G+_Rud Dog
UPDATE! As mentioned the pixlelation problem continues but interesting addition. As I noted the problem only occurred on two channels in my area Fox and CBS. Well turned on the tube to watch NFL Monday Night Football (CBS) and the channel 705 was showing an error V52. Tried the stations above and below that channel and they were fine. Now in my area of the woods Comcast provides for what ever reason three channels for the same feed. Channel 5, 705 and 1005. Both 705 and 1005 were Displaying the same error but Channel 5 was fine. Now channel 5 is Standard definition the other two are high def. If anyone has any idea what is going on I am open to any input for solving this nightmare. Meanwhile will contact Comcast who I am sure will tell me their responsibility ends at the cable connected to the house. If only there was some sort of equipment which I could test the line. With out getting thrown out the house by the other half.
G+_Black Merc
HD content? Could the TiVo not have the proper 'decoding' information and is kicking out this error?
G+_Rud Dog
Black Merc thank you for responding. Not sure the decoding is that granular as it is only CBS on both the HD channels for the same station which are 705 and 1005. Now the SD station, 5, is fine but as stated it is in standard definition. All the other channels are fine. both in SD and HD. And if you recall the pixelation was happening on channel 702, 1002, 705 and 1005. Hate to have to buy a new box just to test out end device as the problem. G+_Rud Dog
Update and final unless something crazy happens. After struggling with this problem and attempting to fix, I just gave up. The problem was intermittent and all other channels were functioning just fine. With no further attempts to fix the problem the pixlelation just disappeared. Now, we just get an occasional j2 or 3 second black screen when we start watching content after which it fades as well.
