Another great project would be using what ever IOT fits the bill to create a voltage monitoring device. It would be great to have for instance 120AC monitored for 24 Hours. Or 5VDC supply monitored for the same amount of time. Sort of a strip chart recorder I think they were called.

An additional feature would be to not only monitor voltage for brownouts but to also monitor voltage spikes.

I wonder if relays could handle this. Relay monitoring voltage, if it drops, trigger an Arduino action. Or use an rpi with a webserver with a graph. I know the Schneider electric PDU devices are expensive, as are those monitor cards for UPS. I wonder what that would take.
