G+_Akshay Sharma
While hearing Jason Howell talk about the mystery group of people who would actually use DeX, I found myself agreeing with his opinion, for the most part. Why have a monitor, Keyboard and mouse that is 'dead' while the phone is not there? Wouldn't DeX be better as a Windows App? Best of both worlds. I use Vysor from Koushik Dutta on my desk and DeX seems like the next evolution of that. http://www.theverge.com/2017/3/30/15120312/samsung-dex-microsoft-continuum-pc-phone-battle
G+_Elias Mårtenson
That seems to be based on the assumption that Windows is somehow better. Because otherwise I'm not sure why you're suggesting an application. I don't know if this thing will succeed but I can see the argument for this thing. After all, with yourselves proposal you'll not just have an unused monitor and mouse while you are away from it. Now you'll have a whole unused computer. G+_Akshay Sharma
Windows or Mac app, doesn't matter. Whatever floats your boat. My desktop at the office runs Windows. In a DeX as an app scenario, that machine is still useful if I'm not there with an S8. If I need to use my phone only, I dock and have a DeX session. Otherwise, the desktop is still available. G+_Cédric Berger
The monitor could be your TV. Then it is not useless with your phone away.
G+_L I
I would be more inclined to use this if it docked into a laptop.
