G+_Tom Kudla
The episode on "How to pontoon your quad" didn't happen soon enough for me. The good news is I retrieved the quad before an alligator got it. My quad had 4 legs made from a pool noodle. This actually prevented me from completely submerging. In fact, I think they allowed it to stand on the water effectively. At this point, I don't know if the GoPro Hero 4 Black or the Alien-X will survive or not. The GoPro was not in a case as I haven't been able to figure out a way to securely mount it while in the waterproof housing. The gimbal was attached under the plate in the front. :(
G+_Tom Kudla
Wayne Hobbins Thanks Wayne. I have put it in a device called a Dry & Store. We use it to keep moisture out of my son's hearing aids. I'm going to bake it in there for a few days and do a lot of praying.
G+_Travis Hershberger
Wayne Hobbins Great drying procedure, but need that first step! The first step? Douse everything with rubbing alcohol (if you want I've also had success with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and distilled water.) While drying out the rubbing alcohol will help remove contaminates while it evaporates. Water tends to leave contaminates behind, and the "other" things in the water are what causes electrical problems.
G+_Phorest Sherwood
I save the desiccant from the stuff I buy in a ziplock bag. And drop whatever I submerge in the bag. Saved my gopro 3 black. You can get desiccant on Amazon pretty cheaply. I've also done rice, it just takes a little longer.
