G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
What kind of quad? That determines the options. BTW... sorry to hear that. :(
G+_Edward miskowiec
Thanks. I am going to build the 250 quad that your are going to do on your show with the mwc flight controller 1.5.
G+_Steve C
If it's large and expensive enough to justify it I'd put a GPS tracker on it like they sell for tracking cars that cost $20 on Ebay. Otherwise just use a directional antenna to find it by following the telemetry or FPV transmitter.
G+_Kelly Evans
A buzzer on one of your extra channel works good if you fly line of sight.
G+_Wayne Black
They make them for just this purpose. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14521__HobbyKing_174_Discovery_Buzzer.html You set up a spare channel on one of your TX switches. G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Also... if you're on a budget, get a Lipo Warning device. They're sub $2, plug into the balance connector, and let out a LOUD beep when you get low. If you've crashed, assuming that the device didn't separate from the battery and your quad is still drawing a small amount of power, you'll get the beep for 20-40 minutes before the battery goes completely flat. G+_Michael Heinz
The KK controllers have a "lost quad" alarm that can be enabled - the quad will start beeping if it hasn't moved in 30 minutes. Also, and I've used this, KKs make a loud "BEEEP" when armed or disarmed - which means if you hold down the the throttle and push full left, the quad will beep every few seconds as long as the radio is in range. G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Also... If you disarm a KK, the ESCs will chirp every 5 seconds.
