In the end of the episode called "#21: Arduino 101" Iyaz described how to make your own Ethernet cables.

To easily keep track of the small colored cables you used something called a "guide". I've looked many places but I can't find this.

Has it another name? Does anyone know where I can buy it? (ebay link?) I have cables and connectors and only need some "guides".

In the episode he said that the guide came with the connector. However the connectors I've brought did'nt came with these guides.

I've no problems with figuring out which order to place the wires, and I don't mean a guide like a tutorial :)

It's a little bit of plastic to put on to easier sort the wires before putting on the connector.

I know what you're talking about. You don't really need them. I've never  seen anyone use them other than iyaz (he didn't use them either). The connector itself comes with grooves that do what that guide does.

 

why do you want it?

Thanks for your answers.I see that I either need do without the guides or find connector that comes with them.

The reason why I want to use guides is that I find i pretty difficult to hold the wires in place with my fingers. The easily cross. I only managed to hold the wires in place because I used a "reversible action" tweezer.

Also if you use a guide it's easier to cut in the wires in the right leght before putting them in the connector.

I've found RJ45 with guides searching for "cat6" on ebay. Thanks for your help everybody :)
