G+_Eddie Foy
Does Synology have more then 1 router? They are new to the game. Love their NAS's, but I'd hold off a few generations on routers.
G+_Ben Reese
Eddie Foy Yeah, I'm kinda torn on that... They're new to the game, but I assume they do a decent job at security and keeping their NAS software up to date. Can't really say the same for most router veterans. G+_Eddie Foy
With their NAS's, they are applying externally patched libraries/binaries for the most part. With routers its a little more up close and personal.
G+_Will O'Meara
Eddie Foy that's what I wasn't sure of I found the rt1900ac, but I didn't know if it was the one mentioned on the show.
G+_Gustavo Domínguez
Don't bother, it doesn't even support OSPF, has a limited number of reservations, routing policies, only 5 VPN connections, etc. This was stated here but they still went on recommending for several episodes. My guess, they were paid by Synology to do so. Synology NAS server are somewhat good but that router isn't. You're better off with something like the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite, much cheaper, much more powerful. No Wi-Fi though, this is a real router.
