G+_Jared Houtsma
Just bought a Synology NAS, but it appears I am having performance issues because I don't have a gigbit router, they seem to range from $50 - $200. Does any one in the community have suggestions? I would like to spend around $100 or less but could go a little higher if there was significant benefit
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
I have this Netgear gigabit router, and it's awesome :) http://goo.gl/gt2Dx
G+_Brian Crowthers
I bought a NetGear N600 and it has to be the best router I've ever worked with. I have always used Linksys but I got tired of paying the extra price for the name, I even went as far as putting DD-WRT on it (WRT160NL), it worked fine but I really enjoy the NetGear, the Gigabit LAN is one of the reasons I upgraded as well. It has excellent range too. On my previous Linksys with the DD-WRT I added a second WRT54G as an access point and set it in Bridge Mode and I still love using the NetGear for the range, my drive way is over 350ft and it reaches to my mailbox at the end, I have it centrally located in the house. I run a WHS2011 through it and I have a DLINK DNS-323 for a backup and it backs up 1.3TB all through that NetGear. I also record Over The Air TV and Movies and remove the commercials with MCEBuddy and have it sent to my WHS2011 for viewing later. . . I know this was more info than you asked for but I want to let people know what is out there and what your computers can do for you.
G+_Jerry McMurphy
You might want to consider one of the new routers with wireless pre-AC. Great if you'll be connecting wirelessly. Supposed to be 500 megabits/sec!
