I think y'all should take a look at this cool Powershell/Command Line utility for Windows called Chocolatey. Similar to apt-get, it makes it easy to install many common packages and keep them up-to-date. Highly reccomend.

 

I ran across it while looking to install Github's Atom text editor for windows. It is very slick, while there are still bugs, as it is in Alpha. That is at http://atom.io or install on chocolatey via the command "cinst Atom"
