G+_Billy Stanton
Alright, so what do you do if the hard drive you ordered on amazon didn't come with mounting screws? That is, besides cannibalize them from another machine? I know there are high end cases that don't need hdd mounting screws, but seriously? No screws? G+_Cole Brodine
I have such a bad habit of saving that kind of stuff. I must have a couple mason jars full of computer screws.
G+_Jorge Cornejo
Cole Brodine I do the same I take off all the bits an pieces off all the computers I replace. billy stanton I haven't used screws for any of the hard drives I've replaced in the last three years but if I had to I am sure I can find one or two in my "recycle" pile! G+_Cole Brodine
If billy stanton lived in central Nebraska, I'd give him a handful. :-)
G+_F. Biff
Swpie'em, I would only be concerned if the computer was moved around like a gaming PC. Just make sure the HDD case make a good ground contact.
G+_Andre Klärner
Well, I guess most people who are buying hard drives without a usb-case around it are sufficiently pro to always have handful of extra screws of every kind you find in a PC today. I also like getting no screws.. Like the hard plastic cover they serve only a limited purpose. And the screws you get for free are most often quite lousy build and break apart the third time you try to loosen them. I still have a lot of the ones that you can screw without a bit in the screwdriver as they are way easier to screw and leas likely to break when someone tighened them too much.. G+_Nick Gailfus
If the item you ordered was marked OEM it will usually just be the hard drive. They are cheaper but you end up needing your own cables as screws.
G+_Dave Hart
Go & beg a few from your local computer / repair store. Their techs are likely to have a jar or box of screws.
