G+_tptwk
Help!! I have a state of the art original 1st gen. iphone ios3.1.3 that was given to me (free)unlocked. I quickly added it to my T-mobile family plan and it works great. I factory reset the phone. I added my gmail account and it instantly brought in my emails and google contacts. I then gave the phone to my wife thinking it would be her perfect 1st smart phone. Here is where the problem begins. I have hundreds of contacts from my Gmail account that are now in her phone. I created a new contact list on her gmail for her clients. I changed the mail settings on the phone to look at her gmail. I changed the calender settingson on the phone to see her calender. However, when I try to add an account for contacts (add LDAP) it is unsuccessful and can't find the server. I have reset the phone and started with her gmail and I can't seem to get her phone to sink with her gmail contacts. By the way, I never had to add a contact account the first time I set up the phone with my email. It just found it. I did sink the phone originally with my itunes and this may be where the problem lies. If I connect with itunes it still shows my gmail server. I don't know how to get rid of it. Father Robert or anyone in the TWIT community, can you help? I am lost. Thanks, Tom K Chatsworth, CA
G+_Joe Phelps
Do a factory reset and start over.
G+_Jason Elrick
iTunes is your issue. It pulled in your contacts the first time. Gmail contacts does not use LDAP it uses CardDAV, instructions here https://support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077
