G+_Will Pherigo
Another question... The episodes on the quad copter build gave lots of warnings about handling the lipo batteries with care. I've seen at least one portable backup battery system that's lipo and many airsoft guns use lipo. Airsoft is pretty rough and tumble. Why the difference in how they are handled? G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Airsoft guns don't have nearly the discharge rate of a quadcopter. Also, the packs tend to be protected within an airsoft gun, so you don't have to worry about punctures and hard hits as you do with a pack on the bottom or top of a quad. G+_Will Pherigo
I also recently got a Ravpower battery pack (23000 mAH) for recharging all the battery powered devices that have proliferated at my house. I was surprised to see that it was LIPO (given all of your cautions), but it is really well regulated when charging or when it's recharging another device.
