G+_Austin Clark
I’m looking at upgrading my aging laptop and I’m looking for a windows laptop that can be a workhorse for Photoshop and Lightroom. Some of the basic things I’m looking for are a 14-15 inch screen, Core I7, 8 or more gigs or RAM, SSD, backlight keyboard with number pad. Touch screen optional. I would have liked a touchscreen with an active digitizer to use a stylus with but it seems impossible to find one in a laptop 14 inch or above. If I don’t get a stylus built in, I will probably be looking at getting a Wacom pad. Since I’m editing photos a high resolution display would be important but I’m also looking at purchasing a high resolution monitor, probably 27 inches in size. Not sure if 4k would be a good investment since the price and I’ve heard issues with compatibility and refresh rates. I don’t PC game but color accuracy to prints is important. The ASUS PB278Q has good reviews but there is also an ASUS PA279Q that looks to be factory calibrated and have a wider color gambit but I’m not sure if 50% more in price is worth it. I’m looking to spend $1200 to $1600 on the laptop and $450-$750 on a monitor.
G+_bryant thompson
I went with an ASUS Q500A, and I put crucual 16 gb memerory kit in it and their m500 1tb ssd in it, but for the money you're looking at I would go with a MacBookPro outfitted as best as you can afford - yje reason I say thr mbp is the screeens on the pro come calibrated preety well from the factory

G+_bryant thompson
right now I'm hearing very good things about the new MSI laptop, it includes an N-vid gpu for your picture manipulation, My Asus has all of the above requirements after I upgraded it which i literally did with one hand as my primary hand went out to lunch after back\neck surgery
G+_Austin Clark
Guys, Thanks for all the advice and using it on the show. I’ve added the Acer to my price watch list. My only concern is the reviews for the V15 Nitro on Newegg and Amazon are not so great. But I take them with a grain of salt. Hope to see the full review on BFYB. I’m also watching the MSI GS 60 Ghost Pro 3K and Asus ROG GL551JM-EH71. I’m also going to connect it to the Asus PB278Q monitor. I’m hoping someone has some deals next week.
