G+_Erik Ellsinger
Want to put some red and green led strips on my quad, for example these: http://www.readytoflyquads.com/lighting-strip-green That led strip require 12V, does someone know of a converter I can put on my quad that converts the 14,8V I get from my Lipo to 12V? G+_Taylor Graham
you're flying 4 cell? On your KH250? A lot of the rc shops should have voltage regulators for flying FPV stuff on 4 cell. Check for one that will get you to 12v (a lot might be 9v). Or just make your own.
G+_Erik Ellsinger
Yes, but it's a modified version of the KH250. Been looking at the readytoflyquads site, what do you think about this one? http://www.readytoflyquads.com/dc-to-dc-mini-step-down-adjustable Their site always seem to be so slow for me so it's hard to browse it. G+_Taylor Graham
Looks perfect to me. And its super cheap. At that price i wouldnt bother making one yourself.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Most 12v strips will handle 14.8 volts just fine. :)/#testfirst
G+_Erik Ellsinger
Think I will try both ways, with voltage regulator and without
G+_Black Merc
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ agree... most have a wide voltage range, 8-15v, being that more voltage = brighter, till over max = dead
G+_Aye Mossum
Resistors will bring down the current a bit. Just apply Ohm's law V=I•R. Check the resistance of your LED strip, determine the current that you would get at 12V, then add resistance to keep that current level when you jump up to 14.8.
