G+_Brian McGrain
General question for the QUADCOPTER audience. With the release of the DJI Phantom 3 last week and tomorrow's announcement by 3D Robotics: which path do I choose? The P3 does everything at the $1000 price point and I expect the 3DR Solo to be comparable - is it possible to build a competitive quadcopter with all the similar bells and whistles at that price point? I would like the experience of building/crafting, but money and features are the deciding factor. I flew fighters in the Air Force a number of years ago, dabbled with RC gliders a little, but haven't touched a quadcopter yet. The FPV, GPS, photo aspects of quadcopter flight have me fascinated. Thanks, Brian
G+_DeWayne Shorts
IMO, the biggest advantage to build v buy is when you crash. It much cheaper and easier to source parts for one you build. And no matter if your just starting out or been doing it for a while, if you're flying hard enough to really have fun, You Will Crash.
