G+_Steve C
How about a show on how to deal with the idiots at Paypal? I got an email saying I have a balance in a PayPal account that has not been accessed for at least 3 years. They say if I don't take action by 10/2/2013, Arizona law requires them to submit the funds to the Arizona State Treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Office. They want me to go to Paypal and login but I can't because I don't have an account. It seems that anyone can send funds to your email address at Paypal but then you can't get it if you aren't registered with them. The directions say to go to Paypal and try to login, Click "forgot?" in the password box then Click "Get started." Select “I don’t know my password.” At that point they prompt you for your email address and send you a verification code that you have to come back and put in to verify that you got the email. That part works OK but there is a second step where they want to send a verification message to your phone that you have to receive to prove your identity. The problem is they have a phone number they want to call that either I never had or haven't had for years and there's no way to change the number to a current number that is actually in use! Does anyone know how to deal with those idiots?
G+_Tux ForTosh
Maybe this was a scam email, and the sender is phising for people that do have a PayPal account to click on a link within the email and enter their PayPal details
G+_Steve C
No, it's real. There's no link to click on. I've actually had this problem once before years ago because anyone can send funds to you in care of Paypal even if you don't have an account there and no way to get it out. I guess someone did it again and I never noticed. Not sure how to deal with it this time however.

G+_Steve C
I emailed Paypal and they say they can transfer the funds in the problem account to my real active account. I thought I'd have to call them but this seems to be working. It was only $4.00 though, not really a big deal.
