G+_Mohsin Qazi
Has anyone figured out a way to reliably see the inter-show video on TWiT time-shifted (i.e. not live)? I really enjoy the before- and after- show of TWiT itself (the big show), and can, using dar.fm, record the audio, but sometimes I miss the video in between. My schedule does not permit me to watch from 3pm-6pm EDT or 8pm-9pm EDT, so I can't really watch live, and besides, I'd rather time-shift anyway. (Aside; Leo's idea that on-demand will go away is nuts). So, any thoughts?
G+_Bill “iamdanerd” Boling
Just go to twit.tv then look for the link to the archived shows, they have them in mp3 and mp4 video. If you use window try Miro RSS player. You can download them when they are update automatically. Or on a android phone or tablet with beyondpod . G+_Jeff Stevens
Bill, respectfully, that's not what I'm talking about. I've been listening to TWiT since, gosh, show 80 or so? I'm well familiar with the downloads. What I'm asking about is BETWEEN the shows. When they're talking live, new hosts are arriving, the causal conversations, the transitions, the setup, etc. The things we see on live.twit.tv. G+_EnriqueMaria HG (Dragon
I've hear Leo say something about Justin.tv keeping everything for a month, but I personally don't used Justin.tv, so I don't know how would that work.
G+_Russell Coleman
go to http://www.justin.tv/twit/videos and you can choose past broadcasts. finding the right one looks like a pain though
G+_Jeff Stevens
Well, Russell, that's one option. They don't seem to be more recent than 10 days and as you say, a PITA to find a particular video...
G+_Jeff Stevens
And BTW, Russell Coleman , thank you for the suggestion. I really do appreciate it.
G+_Matt Bonnett
Yeah. I'm in the same boat. I normally can't watch any of the shows live because I work third shift and sleep during the day but love the pre and post shows when I can catch them live. Would love to have them posted alongside the main shows.
G+_Taavo-Taur Tammur (t2t2
Re nothing more recent than 10 days: The videos on justin.tv get grouped into one continuous video if the stream hasn't been restarted, so you'll end up with one long video over multiple days. For example the most recent one has 3 days of content. To find a particular clip you can take the most recent video, calculate how much time ago it was and then go length - (start time)
G+_Mariane Matera
Internet radio runs everything in a constant loop. You can't pick and choose but you'll hear whatever is going on in the studio at the time and they rerun the day recordings through the evening and night. There's Internet radio boxes, or you can pick up the live stream on an iPad or iPod at twit.tv dot com
G+_Dave Trautman
Perhaps we all need something like TuneIn Radio where we can program it to pick up the stream live and capture it for later play. Might have some copyright implications but however TuneIn Radio managed to wiggle around that could also apply to TWiT. I don't think the video editors at TWiT would be interested in compiling what is going on between the shows because that's sometimes as much as what happens during a netcast (just kidding). I would think it is too much to expect TWiT to keep that stuff (except for legal protection). I've written about this before regarding a kind of "ask me anything" before or after some shows. But those would be required to have their own A-M-A download spot. There are often references to discussions people were having before the show and it might be nice to be able to get those in their own context. Of course, often those discussions are boring. I love to have the live stream on beside me as I work on stuff or even while doing housework. I am constantly taken away from the stream and rely on iTunes to review the netcasts as edited shows. (Okay, no knocks on iOS Podcast player until the others allow you to watch at 1.5 and double speed as well.) But we might find TWiT comes up with a solution for an overnight replay of the live action, which we could either download as a HUGE segment, or capture for ourselves with whatever new tool gets developed for that. G+_Peggy Hetlage
Agree that listening "after the fact" won't go away... I don't have time to listen live unless I'm in the car. (My first Google + post!)
