Can anyone recommend a good Android tablet under $500 that has a GPS receiver in it. I'm not wanting a data plan. I have used the SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 in the past. We use them in the filed to collect GPS data on equipment. Would not mind a Windows tablet but most do not have a GPS receiver.

I like my Nexus 7 a LOT.  Just Wifi and has GPS.  CoPiolt allows me to use it as a in car nav with downloaded maps.

I had written a quick down and dirty app in MIT's AppInventor for marking waypoints (but just waypoints, you'd have yto make a KML file to import it, but thats not a big deal)

You can get a cheap ($20-50) phone from Walmart or Target and just use wifi to install your apps. The idea of geotaged photos wouldn't be terrible, but if you want lat/lon info there are apps for that too. "GPS Status and Toolbox" is amazing! It will give you latitude and longitude; but also altitude, satellite fixes, and error range.

Woot just had HP 10" tablets with a GPS on sale for $59 that retailed for $249, you could watch for them since they have had some several times now.   If you want data too Frys has Trio AXS 4G 8" tablets with a GPS and free data from T-Mobile for $60.  They are both very good quad core models but the Trio screen is not quite as bright so it's a bit harder to see in bright sunlight.
