G+_Jacqueline Nehama
I watched the TWIT Apple iPad announcement today. I enjoy listening to Leo, Andy and Sarah but am I the only one that finds Mike Elgan really annoying during these Apple events? I have no problem with people not being Apple Fanboys ( shoot I myself have both an Android and iPhone and really enjoy both ) but it seems all he ever has to say is little snarky remarks that add nothing to the broadcast. I'm sure he is probably a great guy in person but I sure don't care to listen to him on TWIT. I really miss Tom Merritt! Maybe it's just me... G+_Adam Dohm
it seemed they were all pretty snarky, which was a nice break from most news sources praising them for every aspect of their marketing genius. I hear you that Mike had some pointed slings, but they were well placed and required from the train wreck of comedic intent in that announcement
G+_Brian Dice
They where all a little snarky and rightly so. Apple rehashed what everyone knew for nearly 45 minutes before they got into anything new.
G+_Kyle Ruth
I for one have begun liking him more than I did when he first joined twit because of these remarks. He is 100% real and tells it how he sees it. We need more of that in many areas of life and media. He doesn't have to see things the way mainstream tech blogs do. He just reacts and speaks. Wonderful!
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
"I have no problem with people not being Apple Fanboys " -- There's your problem right there! :) We shouldn't be "ok" with people NOT being Apple Fanboys... we should PREFER that they're not Apple Fanboys when covering an event. He uses a MacBook. He has an iPhone... but he wasn't impressed by what Apple was releasing. --- That's what he's supposed to say.

G+_MJedi
Okay, if they shouldn't be Apple Fanboys then they shouldn't be anti-Apple either. I stopped watching their coverage and watched the actual stream from Apple because of ALL 4 hosts' negativity. It seems that Leo is getting more and more anti-Apple these days. When he walked out during their live coverage of the Apple Event, it communicated to me that he doesn't even want to hear what Apple has to say. Does Leo do the same thing during Google, Samsung or Windows events? (I don't watch those so I don't know.) How would it be if the newscasters on TV walked out of a broadcast if they didn't like what they saw? I also have a problem when 3 of the 4 hosts of MacBreak Weekly keep gushing about their Android phones. It doesn't seem right. Does anyone on All About Android use an iPhone and rave about it? G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Tristan Wenceslao In short... yes... He does EXACTLY that.... Leo doesn't drink anybody's Kool Aid... you know how we know? Because the Windows fanboys think he's a Windows hater. And the Android Fanboys think he's an Android hater. And the Apple Fanboys think he's an Apple hater. If you want an echo chamber in which all the hosts will just keep gushing about how awesome "x" company/product is no matter how "meh" the announcement might be, you're not going to find it at TWiT. G+_MJedi
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Okay, can you point to episodes on Windows Weekly where he is called a Windows hater, and on TWiG where is called an Android hater? I don't need to hear everyone gush about Apple, but I don't like hearing everyone constantly bash them either. Ideally, it has to be balanced. Rene is the only host on MBW that still flies the Apple flag. I think Leo himself has said several times that he is a Google fanboy.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Yes... EVERY Windows Weekly and TWiT episode... just be in the Chatroom and you'll see it pretty quickly. Or why not jump into the YouTube channels for those shows... you'll also see it pretty quickly.
G+_Bob Sampson
Apple is also a $450B+ company, but you wouldn't guess that from these announcements. That Colbert conversation was just painful and unfunny.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Bob Sampson Soooo... you're saying that if a company is worth a lot of money, it can do no wrong?
G+_Bob Sampson
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Not at all Padre, but we didn't see these things much as far as I remember from the Steve Jobs' days. It was about showmanship, visuals, hype, and timing. Climaxing with a tap on a remote to show a new device.
