G+_Abanoub Ghipriel
Just bought an SSD to replace my HDD. I want to start fresh rather than making a copy. How do I do this? I don't have a copy of windows 8.1 and tbh I don't want to spend money to buy one. My computer has no CD bay if that matters. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you for your time. :-)

G+_Ken Torbeck
What you may need to do with the Dell is a factory restore than use a disk image tool to copy the restore image to the SSD. http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/t/19582843.aspx

G+_Ben Reese
It's pretty simple to make a Win 7/8/2k8/2k12/etc install USB drive. It requires having the install disk image, but you can probably get that from a friend (or other means).
G+_Stephen Hart
For 40$ you can get Acronis true image and make a copy of your partition to another hard drive and boot from that.
G+_Ben Reese
Stephen Hart Lance Pelissier if the only goal is cloning the drive, you can do that for free with tools found on the Hirens Boot Disk.
G+_bryant thompson
as far as I know the image software can not clone win8.1 unless they're now supporting GPT partitions, I had to rebuild from restore images
G+_Ben Reese
Lance Pelissier that's good to know. What part is illegal about it? As far as I know, all the software it includes is free.
G+_Ben Reese
Hmmm... I guess I'll have to check the list again. I've seen a few licensed programs supported, but they required additional changes to the disk image that needed the licensed program installed. G+_Ben Reese
LOL. I'm glad you have me figured out. Do you have an example of a $100 application found pirated on Hiren's Boot disk?
