G+_Bill Whitman
Good job by Leo, but I'm sorry, it's not our right to be able to watch Directv on a three year old iPad.
G+_Nick Stein Sr.
Good for you Leo tell apple how it is, that was really nice of you Merry Christmas.
G+_Bill Fairchild
Bill Whitman he wasn't saying that its your right, he was saying that Apple forcing app developers to drop support for 3 year old OS, is their way of forcing you into upgrading to new hardware, if you need to or not. G+_Robert Cronk
When you pay $500 plus for a tablet, it shouldn't be useless in 3 years.
G+_Bill Fairchild
Robert Cronk It is far from useless, but Apple is certainly in the wrong here.
G+_George Byers
Apple always harps on about "Android Fragmentation" but.... a vast majority of apps still work on Android version 2.3 and up, what's Apples excuse there?
G+_John Clark
Just sold another ipad. That'll teach Tim. ;) A really nice gesture though.

G+_Paul Roberts
Bravo Leo! Yet another example of how Leo consistently reminds us to keep humanity alive in an age where technology and - evidently - some corporations would appear to be removing it! Could we say that it's Leo vs. Skynet? If so Leo Laport 1: Skynet (aka Apple) 0!

G+_Alan Rodriguez
George Byers in this clip I didn't see or hear what this person wanted to do with the ipad that needed the update could please repost the whole call
G+_Bill Whitman
Bill Fairchild I didn't mean to imply Leo meant that. I was referring to the caller. And to everyone in the thread commenting that a 3 year old tablet should still work, I'm sure it still works; just that the guy can't watch DTV on it. I don't agree with Leo here. I don't believe AppIe or any other tech company owes it to keep supporting a product 5 generations old now. I don't buy anything that has to do directly with technology and expect it to be "totally useful" more than 3 years later. Anyway, still a classy move by Leo, but Apple's not at fault here. ?
