G+_nn tt
Looking for recommendations for a multimeter in the $100 range. Want to use it for quadcopter, raspberry pi and Arduino projects.

G+_nn tt
Looks like I can only get the Fluke 79 on the used market. Have another suggestion for a multimeter I can get new?
G+_Travis Hershberger
Fluke 117 then. I'm planning to pick one up this weekend.

G+_Travis Hershberger
Doh! 114. Apparently I need to take a few more minutes to rest my eyes instead of staring at these monitors all day long. http://www.microcenter.com/product/441629/114_True_RMS_Digital_Multimeter Also note, microcenter is a dangerous dangerous place for my bank account. G+_nn tt
the 114 from microcenter looks like a good deal.
G+_Eddie Foy
Doesn't look like the 114 does current/amps. (17B+ 115 & 117 having Freq is useful, at least for me, and temp is nice)
G+_nn tt
your right just found this comparison chart the 114 will not measure amps http://www.tequipment.net/fluke/fluke-117-vs-116-vs-115-vs-114/
G+_Eddie Foy
No current is a non-starter for me. (btw, tequipment.net is a good place/people. I think I bought the owner a new car by now)
G+_Eddie Foy
Extech is a pretty reasonable econo brand.
G+_nn tt
Thank you Eddie. The 17B+ is looking really good. Want to let others know that the 17B+ is NOT in USA Fluke line of products. A post on Amazon said it was from the Japanese market.
G+_Eddie Foy
Ah. Was just from a quick search. I don't shop for meters, I have enough with 2 87's a 189 and a 196C (and the pile of $10 throw-aways)
G+_Aaron Kimmins
I've had good luck with the Amprobe 33XR-A. Typical dmm functions, plus temp, capacitance, diode, amp, etc. Pretty comparable to the flukes, of course you only get what you pay for. It's about $100 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/your-account/order-history/ref=oh_aui_search?opt=ab&search=Amprobe Of course, I'd prefer the $300 fluke 87.?
