G+_Greg Mcverry
UGGGH!! Bricked my phone. "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone." Tried everything. I cannot use ODIN I do not have a PC. I tried an ODIN emulator someone created for OSX. Couldn't get it to recognize my phone. I tried Heimdall but couldn't find the correct files for a Verizon S3. It is what I get for being lazy (or stupid, or both) and trying to flash a ROM from not using recovery mod. I have no idea how my bootloader locked. Maybe I didn't notice an OTA update. Maybe I did it wrong.. Headache. Any ideas.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Find a friend with a PC. Outside of that, I'm at a loss.
G+_Greg Mcverry
Thanks Joseph. That is what I was thinking. Friends with PCs are harder and harder to come by. I might have to go to a singles mixer.

G+_Brian Bishop
Remember that being Rooted and having your bootloader unlocked are two different things. You need to do both, and one does not imply the other.
G+_Greg Mcverry
Yeah Brian that was issue. You cant learn if you don't fail I guess. I thought I unlocked bootloader.I tried motochopper with an unlock and failed. I tried Casual next and I think it didn't unlock bootloader as when I try to flash a rom it goes right to recovery mode. I think I will have to hunt down a windows machine and use ODIN.?
G+_Brian Bishop
I did the same thing my first time. Rooted but forgot to unlock and it took me a while to figure out what I missed.
G+_Greg Mcverry
I had a dunderbolt before Verizon S3. Found that easier to root in terminal on Mac. I wish a plague on the house of Verizon.
