G+_Elias Mårtenson
so, as a cord cutter who is trying to accomodate for my house guests, I bought one of those digital antennaes for my father's impending thanksgiving visit, trying to save him money from having to buy the Slingbox so he can watch some games over Thanksgiving. I get two channels only, using a $35 amplified digital antennae .. both of them are religious channels, no sports, no other local news channels. No matter how high, low, or medium I set the amplifier, it looks the same. I've never seen local television in my area for the past 8 years. I'm reminded why I was a cord cutter in the first place. G+_andrew Guthrie
Mount the antana outside. Your walls and roof blocks significant amounts of RF. Also make sure you have a clear as possible line of site to the local TV stations. (could be hard to identify ware they are so ask around)
G+_Alexander Perry
Same here. I started using Aereo.com. At least until they get sued into the ground.
G+_Jay Kennedy
mount it outside? not worth it for a couple local channels. Aereo you say?
G+_Rob Szarka
Even just putting the antenna in a window makes a big difference in my current location.
G+_Jayson Bumbalough
You need to mount the antenna outside on a significantly tall antenna mast.

G+_Ken Lecomte
I had better luck putting a digital antenna on the ground than I did mounting it on my roof. Go figure.
