G+_Jason Perry
What is the difference between MoCA and DOCSIS?
G+_Jerry Ham
From what I remember MoCA is designed to allow communication between devices in your home (for example from a dvr to a remote over coax) while DOCSIS is the protocol used for cable modems to communicate to the cable plant. G+_Joel G. J
I thought MoCA was over Coax?
G+_Jason Perry
Joel J you are right. So is DOCSIS though. MoCA seems to be between devices in your home over coax; while, DOCSIS seems to be between you cable modem, set top box, and I would imagine your cable companies phone adapter and their facility. I still can't see why there is two standards, besides the answer of because there is. ?
