G+_Jason Perry
So I just finnished watching a YouTube video that was clearly too long. I was interested in the subject matter so I broke it up into 3 sittings to make it through. I was wondering what people think a goog length for a YouTube video is? G+_Tom Nardi
I don't think there is such a thing. It depends on what you're watching. I've watched 1+ hour videos where the whole thing was informative and useful information. Not everything can be described in a few minutes. G+_Brent Burzycki
Heck I watched a hour long one the other day and then I sat through 6 3hr long training's about a month ago... I agree - its more about the content... 18hrs of cat videos.. I am not sure I could handle that..
G+_Adam EL-Idrissi
General consensus seems to say depending on what its about. I "watch" 45+ minute videos at work all the time. I put my ear buds in an put my phone in my pocket. Some times I do feel they are too long. I like hardware so I watch a lot of unboxing and builds. It really annoys me when they talk about unrelated things or go on rants about the moon.
G+_610GARAGE
I agree that it largely depends. I however find myself more likely to watch a sub 10 min video then a 15 min video. I also will watch longer videos if I know that it will keep my interest and not go into a speech about how the weather is doing in the youtubers specific neighborhood, at a specific date; which I have seen ??? I don't live there, and I am not a time traveler. Why would I care? From a youtubers point of view, I try to keep my videos down to between 5-10 min. This does mean splitting up a build into a lot of little videos. But I am still trying to get my channel off the ground, so I am thinking that shorter videos will help that.
