I certainly find the screen useful in the field, you can make changes, tune, check battery status, all without an external programmer.

Given how cheap small displays can be I'm surprised there isn't a variant of the Naze or similar that had a similar set up.

It's a great beginner's board. We're all about learning ... and there's no better way to learn settings (cheaply) than having the ability to instantly change settings in the field.
