Does anyone know of someone that has hacked the iPhone 5s home button into one of their projects?

 

I am sure there is a cheaper alternative but I kinda want a non glowing option which seems to be hard to find.

Ben Reese, mainly yes but the button would be a nice bonus. I think I am going to look into the manufacturer. I know Apple bought them but they may have some documentation.

Yeah, kinda sounds like an expensive project to take one out if the phone. Doesn't the GS6 have a similar fingerprint reader now? Apple bought the company that did the fingerprint scanner in their phones, but I'm guessing there are other companies with a similar product.

I did a quick search on iFixit and it cost $30. If I search more I am sure I can find it for a little less.
