G+_Jason Perry
I am looking for ways to access my computer at home from work. I can't install or run anything at work so everything has to run on my side. What I am looking for is something like putty or RDP. I have a number of other web interfaces but want to extend my capibilities further and was wondering if the community had any suggestions.

G+_Andreas Stevens
vnc on home computer, then port forward your router to the computer's ip, you will need the router to set that computer to a fixed ip. connect via web browser. also setup a noip.com account so you can just type yourname.ddns.net:[portnumber] and you will be in provided id has not blocked that domain
G+_Ben Reese
VPN is of course ideal, but that may be restricted from your work's network. VNC works pretty good, but I don't leave those ports open on my router anymore (I used to get random connection requests constantly). There's a Chrome RDP solution, but I haven't played with it enough to get it working. As for not being able to install anything, check out Portable Apps. They're design to be run from a flash drive, but can be run from a local download folder as well.
G+_Jogi Vyas
Have you try Chrome Remote Extension which runs within Chrome browser? If not, give it a try. If you work for a large corporation, then the IT staff may be blocking incoming traffic, otherwise you will be fine.
G+_Jason Perry
Andreas Stevens how do you like noip.com? Do you run into any issues with them?
G+_Andreas Stevens
Jason Perry? asside from having to renew or verify you are still using the service every month (easy process), I use it regularly. I currently have a home FTP cloud, direct access to IP cameras and DVR. emby file server and several other things just because I have the noip access. as a backup I have my server request and dump my current home IP address to a file which is uploaded to Dropbox automatically. I also started using noip on our hostel network system so I can remote in to work on the systems when needed. as for issues. I haven't run across any yet. and if so. my backup script will give me the address within the past 6 hours. I'll post that script if needed. G+_Ben Reese
For dynamic DNS, I finally broke down and bought a domain name. Namecheap.com (<1$ / month was worth it for) has their own dynamic DNS solution that you can use on your own domain. And you don't have to deal with the NOIP monthly check in!
