Just bought synology ds214play and noticed on the bottom of it in one of the ventilation holes there is 6 pins hiding in the shadows. Any website suggestions to figure out what it is for.

Can't say for sure, but probably a console port for maint.  My RS815+ has a console port, but it just for 'factory use'.  (though haven't tried to hook it up during boot)

Thanks Eddie Foy, I think I will try to control myself and not mess with it. It's hard to not rip things apart and see how it works.

Jason Perry Yeah, I know that feeling all too well.  Unless the PCB silkscreen offers some insight, without a scope/logic analyzer and protocol analyzer will be tough to know for sure.
