G+_Quadflyingmedic
Have looked at those. Let us know what you think
G+_Jason Perry
30 second review. Sexy. I think I would rather they went with a frosted bulb though. Easy to set up as long as you don't try to find an iPad app. There is a consistent 2.5 second delay between your action and the result. I unfortunately have nothing to co pair that to. The dim function looks to be very analog in the app, but the bulb seems to be a very course digital scale. Do I regret the purchase no. Well not yet at least. The test will be to see if I use it. G+_Eddie Hughes
What's the price point on those compared to the hue lights? And do they pair with the hue system? I purchased a kit and 3 extra hue lights and love them! But they are expensive!
G+_Jason Perry
I Could have got 1 hue bulb for the price of the starter kit which includes 2 bulbs and the hub. One bulb is about twice the price of a normal LED.
G+_Travis Hershberger
Jason Perry That 4 second delay compares favorably to how my Harmony Home Control responds to the first command you give it. Seems to take a few seconds to wake up after not being used for a bit.
G+_Jason Perry
Thanks Travis Hershberger, I timed it and you could set your watch to it. Oh on another note they run on a Zigbee radio, which I like the idea of knowing its open source. I wouldn't be surprised if I could find an app or hub I like better. At the moment I think I'll stick with what I have though.
G+_Jason Perry
I think my wife, who hates tech, has bought in to the idea of smart light bulbs before I have.
G+_Daniel Armstrong
Side note: the dome on the regular dimmable GE branded LED bulb like this is only held on with a bead of silicone so if the smart version is the same swapping the clear out for frosted won't be very hard, just be sure to use non-acetic acid curing silicone to attach the replacement. I used ethylene glycol tub sealant on mine after I took it apart to see the driver board.
G+_Jason Perry
Just doing some research to figure out why I can't pair my thermostat with the hub that came with my starter kit. Though it is a "wink" hub it's a light version that only connects with GE light bulbs.
