G+_Jason Perry
AAAAAaaaaaa...... I am about to go make a pot of coffee and do some reading. I just transfered my home videos over to my Synology DS214play to find out that I should have recorded them in MP4 not AVCHD, Any suggestions how to go about fixing this problem? G+_Jason Perry
looks like a job for handbrake. Is there a benefit to using AVCHD over MP4?
G+_Ben Reese
I wouldn't suspect any advantage other than lock-in for the camera manufacturer. My old SD Panasonic does basically the same thing except they use .MOD files instead. Just annoying in my opinion. I think YouTube will at least recognize MOD files if I remember correctly. G+_Ben Reese
Oh, and if you prefer command line, FFMPEG is still one if the best video converters I've used. It has a ton of options if you want to dive into it, but it's also great if you want to script out the process for all your videos.
G+_Michael Heinz
Isn't handbrake basically a front-end for ffmpeg?
G+_Jason Perry
Ben Reese, that goes along with the question I just posted in the c101 community. I am going to have to look at it. I have a feeling you just occupied more of my time than what I have. :)
G+_Jason Perry
Looking at this issue as I encode an MP4 version of all my files and I am left wondering what my options really are. There are a lot of video codex' should I be looking at another?
