G+_Jason Perry
Okay does anyone have any resources for playing with ws2811 chips. I don't think I am actually after the WS2811 because it has 3 outputs and I am only interested in 1. I am downloading datasheets right now but didn't know if there were any other good resources
G+_Carlton Dodd
WS2811 and WS2812 are pin-compatible. They have vcc, gnd, and signal in and signal out connectors. Adafruit has an Arduino library that works very well.
G+_Jason Perry
Thanks Carlton Dodd, there is the potential to have some real fun with this. The WS2811 is more than I really need, I only need one output, but for $5 I am not complaining.
