Looks like another Web interface to the nmap scanner (nmap.org) While I spent a number of years using nmap for network scanning with some proprietary security software a company I worked for made, I haven't seen this one before.

nmap comes with it's own GUI called Zenmap, which is pretty deep level information not meant for the typical user. It looks like Open-AudIT provides a cleaner interface and allows you to schedule regular scans.

Are you wanting to do enterprise level scanning or just scan your home network? nmap can be pretty brutal to routers and switches if configured improperly. However, I suspect the folks at Open-Audit know to avoid running the most intrusive scans.

I use nmap from the command line on a regular basis to check for rogue devices on my home network.

Thanks Steve Martin, I am on a constant hunt for different utilities for a number of networks. My home network is a little more complicated than the average home network, though I think it is par for the course in this community and I maintain a network for a not for profit with 20 computers plus whatever is connected to our wireless. I am more than likely going to be using Spiceworks but like to know what else is on the market and compare strengths and weaknesses.

To be honest with you, the purpose of my Google search was to find something to audit / benchmark the performance of the existing copper in the not for profits building.
