As an owner of a Surface RT tablet with blue type 2 cover, the last possible upgrade seems disappointing.

Honestly if we could get an alternate browser, there could be a compelling reason to keep using it.But the script load error and IE support getting worse by the day now.

I'm probably going to replace it this fall, possibly with a Surface 3.

I've got the Lumia 2520 - basically the Surface 2 (no, the 2520 isn't a phone, it is actually a tablet device). I stopped using it long ago because the browser is SO SLOW. Apparently the javascript engine is just terrible. And now I won't start using it again since it is only getting this start menu update and nothing else. Fortunately I didn't buy it - it was a hand out and a conference. It had an extremely short useful life.

Jerry Ham I mainly use my Surface RT for Netflix,Hulu, and TWIT with Twit View app. Occasionally for reading books.

There was a great app for YouTube called MetroTube. But when YouTube switched from flash to HTML5,the app was never updated.

Microsoft may support Surface RT until 2017.But it's obvious there are better 2 in 1 pcs and tablets available. It's just sad to myself in the less then 2 years I've owned this tablet, how fast it became obsolete.
