G+_John short (shorty)
Leo has mentioned there was a core of 5 or 6 TWiT shows that carry the network. Can anyone tell me what they are. I have been a listener since Net at Night and TWiT I believe were the only netcast..
G+_Kirk Harnack
Shorty, I would think those shows are: TWiT Security Now MacBreak Weekly TWiG Windows Weekly Others may be: The Tech Guy Tech News Today Of course, there are other shows, and some may be more popular than I may be thinking. My own bias is this - the 5 shows I mentioned first are the ones I download weekly.
G+_Matthew Fraser (blender
Tech News Today does very good per week, it's just a little weird because of the daily nature of the show. At least, that's how I remember it being explained.
G+_John short (shorty)
Thanks Kirk Harnack Some I had guessed but even Security now, geeky group of dedicated fans. Oh those 5 for me plus for casual listening, Frame rate, Home theatre and this week in Computer Hardware.
G+_Matthew Fraser (blender
The money makers other than TWiT are basically the shows that focus on one of the major companies. That's not too surprising I guess. But yeah, Security Now seems to do well.
G+_Leo Laporte
The top shows right now are, roughly in order of downloads per week... 1. Tech News Today 2. TWiT 3. MacBreak Weekly 4. Windows Weekly 5. Security Now 6. TWiG 7. iPad Today MBW, WW, and SN are virtually tied. This is off the top of my head. I'll get the actual numbers and post them in a bit. G+_Kirk Harnack
It's always interesting to see how reality matches up with - or doesn't - with perception. My personal fave - Security Now - isn't on Leo's list as in the Top 6. Always good to check the calibration. Seems I'm not Peoria. ;-)
G+_Leo Laporte
I just added SN - forgot it. It's very strong and growning. When I get the actual numbers we can see how reality matches with my perception!
G+_Matthew Fraser (blender
Now show me NSFW on that list. I'm kidding, I don't want to know. As long as it never ends.
G+_Kirk Harnack
OK, so I'm at least a suburb of Peoria. ;-)
G+_Leo Laporte
These are the average downloads per show for Q2 2012 from our advertising agency, Podtrac. Please note that the Podtrac numbers are very conservative, often half or less of the raw download numbers which is what most podcasters share. Tech News Today (one week of episodes) 260,000 This Week in Tech 153,000 The Tech Guy (one week of episodes) 87,000 MacBreak Weekly 79,000 iPad Today 62,000 Security Now! 61,000 Windows Weekly 59,000 This Week in Google 50,000 Also note that the numbers are very volatile from week to week, so some weeks Windows Weekly will beat Macbreak Weekly, and vice versa. Shows within 10K of each other are effectively tied.
G+_Steve Quinn
That's the exact order I'd have them in myself...I'm also enjoying Frame Rate more and more...I like the Tom/Shwood dynamic...I wonder how that show is doing these days... G+_Leo Laporte
Framerate and NSFW are about the same 10-15K per episode.
G+_Steve Quinn
Awesome thanks Leo! I hope they both continue to grow. Brian Brushwood and Justin Young are quite talented in there own ways. Their shows are a nice compliment to the network...even-though they can get a little crazy sometimes lol
G+_Arnold Valentino
I for one hope that Framerate and NSFW Show stay on the network. As a cord cutter and Brian Brushwood, Justin Young and Tom Merritt fan, I would to lose these shows just like we lost Game On! although it was a bit expensive to make a Game On! show. G+_Arnold Valentino
I think NSFW Show has one of the most engaged audiences I've ever seen. think Diamond Club book, the Squarespace websites, the Summer/Winter movie drafts and other bits and memes that came out of that show.... :)

G+_John short (shorty)
As mentioned by Steve Quinn Tom/Shwood dynamic is top rate, Brian is a natural entertainer and I am warming up to Justin quite nicely as well. Tom Merritt and Molly I have been a fan of from back before Veronica Belmont was invited to use the mike.
