G+_shane jewitt
ARM just let it be known that they will introduce hardware DRM for high definition video on their next mobile gpu. It's aimed at midrange phones, and played down in most reports. In fact Anandtech doesn't even mention this, and Engadget barely notes it. What pressure did Hollywood bring to bear to get this built into a chip? How is it that the same kind of DRM that failed in the music industry is becoming so entrenched in video? Why are we letting it happen, and where is the news coverage? http://m.cnet.com/news/arm-announces-processors-antipiracy-chips-at-computex/57587269
