Is there an app to overlay my data usage on a map?

I want to know where I am burning through my data so I can take steps to avoid it.

For instance if I see data usage at my house is know I need to put up another AP. If I see high usage at work I need to start downloading my YouTube fix before I leave the house.

I'm not sure any would give data usage on a map and I'm not sure you'd want them to... That means tracking your GPS location at the same time as your data usage. There might be one that logs data usage by radio tower - and that shouldn't be quite so invasive or battery draining.

Android will already tell you by day how much you're using in each app (and iPhone probably does too). If you look at which apps are using the most you might be able to figure out when you're using those apps.

Here's a screenshot of my Data Usage showing Google Photos as the highest user followed by Amazon Music and ownCloud.

Many apps (like Google Photos auto upload) have options to restrict to Wi-Fi use only. I've got unlimited data so I don't worry about it. Even if the app doesn't have the option, Android will let you restrict the background data to Wi-Fi only.

non gps location services works well and saves battery.

Wrote  a small app and buddy said it was correct without GPS within a few blocks.

There might/should be an app that will show what apps are using data (like the battery info in settings)

I think by app would be enough, and easier to do then per location.

Could also use something like Llama or Tasker to just disable cellular data when you're at home to see if that makes a difference. Llama (=Llama Is A Mobile-aware Assistant) used to be my go-to for location-based profiles. Like, when I am at home, turn on ringer and Wi-Fi. When at church, turn off ringer and turn Wi-Fi on. When at work, turn off ringer and Wi-Fi. Etc. It uses the cell tower IDs to determine your location - so not overly accurate but saves on battery life.
