Ben Reese I don't see why it couldn't be done. There's a lot of heat that is going to escape; might as well harness it.

 

We had forced air tent heaters that used thermo-electric generators to power the electronics AND the fan. They have a battery to get started, but once the unit is running it's self-powered. We used a string of four during the ice storm of '08 or '09 to heat a reinforced concrete barracks that held about 300.
