G+_Juan Sosa
Two thumbs down for Episode 509 with Dvorak and O'Dell. Had to turn it off. These shows are way longer than they have to be anyway without listening to more inane banter. Leo, please take charge in the host chair.
G+_Ryan Kelly
I actually had to turn it off as well.
G+_Kevin Flanagan
While I listened to the end, Dvorak bothers me, he seems to be a lot of talk, not a lot of content. I like Jolie better when she's not having to respond to his BS.
G+_John Chase
Kevin Flanagan Agreed. Dvorak is a smart guy with good insight in many areas but I'm tired of the way he interrupts and drags the group off topic. And he appears a bit sexist to me. G+_David Pick
Just out of curiosity, did anyone try speeding up the playback?
G+_Peter Phillips
Dvorak tries too hard to be funny.
G+_Joe Phelps
I didn't even hit Play once I read who was on the show.
G+_Travis W
Jolie is fun and brings a fresh perspective but Dvoraks tired persona ruins it. I enjoy Dvorak in the right setting but these two should never be paired. Is it just me or should TWiT revive Cranky Geeks and give Dvorak a place to spout his ramblings? I think it'd be a win-win! G+_John Chase
Travis W agreed. If ever they are paired again, Jolie should just ignore his baiting and interruptions, stay on message and not be dragged off topic so we could hear what she has to say. TWIG is way better at filling the hour++ with good commentary and less personal/irrelevant bs. Jeff J and Matthew I were awesome on the last show (300). G+_John Chase
If John C. Dvorak? is paying attention to this thread I should like to hear what he has to say in defence of his approach as a TWIT guest.
G+_Dave Whitehead (lakeuk)
I enjoyed this eps, nice to have every few months for a change, need to look for guests who've not been on for ages. The tech news that week wasn't compelling glad it wasn't covered in depth. Only time I'm bored with the show is when there's public events like super bowl and it seems they struggle for guests / content, maybe at these time go for international guests like Wil Haris, Robert Llewellyn, NZ Trey - an all Skype show
G+_Bill Whitman
There's a reason why Jolie hasn't been in the show for awhile. This show was a pretty good showcase for why. Dvorak was annoying as well, because he was allowed to be. I just wonder if this show will spiral downward now that Leo has done what he's always wanted to do, bring back the Screensavers. G+_sam schoch
I literally LOL'd at the last episode. I don't think I didn't expect so, but the wit was pretty fun. On a higher level I didn't learn much, but in a self deprecating way you wouldn't learn much from me. I see it this way, I didn't see much material in tech news this past week to deal with, and it aint the commentators job to create something out of nothing. G+_John Chase
Bill Whitman Nothing lasts forever I guess. There is already overlap in content between several shows so maybe they need to kill something. But TWIT is (was?)the flagship.
G+_John Chase
sam schoch I'd rather they cancel an episode rather than just do it for the sake of the ad revenue. I listen to several podcasts and would rather skip than waste time listening to nothing. I have other shows to fill the gap.
G+_David Pick
Bill Whitman I get it Bill, you didn't like last week's episode. But try not to be all doom and gloom immediately after one disappointing episode. I've followed TWIT for over 10 years now and I know every episode hasn't been great. I know Leo has A.D.D. , but it seems to have gotten worse as he's aged on the show.
G+_sam schoch
I would hate for my opinion to drive TWIT away from producing super-thought (and hope) provoking shows, but I dig that they still kick out shows even when nothing is happening. I believe the original post is valid, and wouldn't want TWIT think that this is what viewers check in for.
G+_Bill Whitman
David Pick It hasn't been "Just one episode" I'm an eight year vet of Twit myself, thank you. All that time Leo has been obsessed with the Screensavers, remembering the good ole days. Nothing wrong with that; but given the timing, I was curious whether one had to do with the other. I guess we'll see.
