G+_Jason Perry
Just watching the latest know how and was thinking about the trackr in Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ?'s kit bag. If he is not at home so his pho e is not connected how does he get a notification that his bag has go e for a walk. Sure you have a chance of the person with the bag going near some with a trackr, but is there any way of knowing one of your less used items has left Petaluma? G+_Ben Reese
Perhaps there's something with Trackr Atlas?
G+_Jason Perry
We will have to wait for trackr Atlas to find out.
G+_Ben Reese
Ah, is that not a thing yet? I kinda like the idea of Trackr, but it also seems like it would be easy to abuse.
G+_Jason Perry
And I want to learn all the ways to abuse it.
G+_David Wiggins
If the third walks (or drives? I'm not sure how long a check-in lasts) by anther trackr I ain't it will show up. I would like to see tests on how fast/close/whatever else it communicates, and yes, its abusability.
G+_Dan Hockey
It's something they call a crowd GPS network. The app and bluetooth have to be on( your phone or tablet) in order for it to work. If there is no one else around to pick up the signal from your trackr you are not going to know where your device is at. I tried one and it doesn't work at all for vehicle tracking. It tells me when my niece's car is home but thats it.
G+_Ben Reese
How about if she has the app running? I wouldn't expect a live update, but how often does the app ping the servers?
G+_Dan Hockey
Depends on how many trackr users sees your tag. If another trackr users device picks up your, tag it's location is reported back to the servers.
G+_Akira Yamanita
I assume he could have the app installed on multiple devices.
