G+_Jason Perry
I need a virtual DVD drive to install MS Office from an ISO I downloaded. Any suggestions? I had one but remember I wasn't too impressed with it.
G+_Juscelino Acevedo
Maybe I am misunderstand your overall goal, but why don't you just install 7-Zip and extract the contents of the ISO? You can easily install Office from the extracted files.
G+_Jason Perry
Well I already had 7 zip installed. I feel stupid.
G+_Juscelino Acevedo
No reason to feel stupid. You just needed a reminder. :-)
G+_Ben Reese
Windows 10 will mount an ISO. If you've installed something else that handles ISOs, it may mess up that functionality though. On Win 7, I do as Juscelino Acevedo?? suggested and extract the ISO with 7-Zip. If you're on 10 and just installing 7-Zip, watch the options during installation and make sure it doesn't steal the default handler of ISOs. You'll still be able to extract them, but it's pretty handy being able to double click one and have it mount. ? Edit: Welp, I'm a bit behind on my comment lol. Had it typed out a while ago and just hit send.
G+_Keith Mallett
Ben Reese IS right the easiest way in Windows 8-10 is to mount the iso but what OS are you running Jason Perry?
G+_Rud Dog
Just the thought of a virtual DVD drive had my brain in pain what happens when you install, in the case of OS install, and it reboots is the VDVD still there. This is a learning experience didn't know they existed.
G+_Jason Perry
I don't think you could install an OS, they are network shareable though. I use them when I am installing something like office.
