G+_Jason Perry
Is Fusion 360 not a paid tool? For some reason I thought he used a free tool
G+_Jim Craig
Fusion 360 is free for non-pro use.
G+_Jason Perry
Went back and found the episode. It is. He also mentioned it is free for non-commercial use. I only see a link for the free trial. Guessing I install that and specify it's for non-commercial use
G+_Jim Craig
I think that is how it works, I've installed it at home but it was about a year ago and I don't remember the process. It's a good program though, have fun.
G+_Rud Dog
Odd, was using or should say learning Fusion for awhile and after reading your comments decided open and see if Fusion had any expiration dates or splash screens. Was surprised to see it wanted a Username and password. So went back to Design123 and no such problem will have to look a bit closer at Fusion here shortly. G+_Jim Craig
You do have to sign up to get a username and password but it's free for non commercial use. Your designs are stored in the cloud I believe. I already had a username and pass from the AutoCAD 360 app on my phone which I use too view .dwg files remotely. It's an Autodesk account and the same username & pass will work across different Autodesk products.
G+_Jason Perry
Just found this knowledge.autodesk.com - How to activate Start-up or Educational licensing for Fusion 360 | Fusion 360 | Autodesk Knowledge Network
G+_Rud Dog
Jim Craig My lastpass shows a username and password but fails to function not sure whats going on here. Guess its time to walk the steps of the "Forgot Password". Will let you know.
G+_Rud Dog
Turns out for some apparent reason LastPass does not work well with "Sign in" for Auto desk. Had to manually enter my Username and password. That is a first for me when it comes to PC logins, LastPass is usually pretty good with logins. BTW don't remember having to log into autodesk site when I first starting using Fusion 360?
G+_Jason Perry
Jim Craig??, do you know what other Autodesk products enthusits have access to?
G+_Jim Craig
Rud Dog? I know AutoCAD 360 (which is different than fusion 360) has some free functionality, like team viewing and commenting. Maybe check out formit also from Autodesk kind of a SketchUp competitor. I haven't used it so I'm not sure if there is a free option.
