G+_Jason Perry
Hold on.... SDI can transmit 300m!!! Hmmm..... Could I use that as a method to extend an HDMI run??? Would that strip out HDCP?
G+_Ben Reese
I've considered SDI to get video to multiple TVs throughout the church. I think I've decided to just use a local RTMP server and pull the video on a Fire TV stick. I've seen mixed information about stripping HDCP and it seems some HDMI to SDI converters cut the feed if HDCP content is detected.
G+_Dexter Franco
how about transmitting a kilometer.
G+_Ben Reese
Dexter Franco for a kilometer, I'd probably go with the IP streaming idea. An RTMP server will run on a Raspberry Pi (I suspect a Pi Zero-W even). Technically, VLC can create a broadcast stream accessible by KODI. I'm guessing there are active SDI repeaters you can get if you want to stay in the hard-wired realm. Probably a dozen different ways to accomplish this. It just depends on what you want and how you prefer to work...
