G+_Damian Mongru
I thought the whole point of IKEA stuff is that you put it together yourself (as well as being able to take home the stuff that day). There was a TWiG a month or two ago where Leo thought the idea was that you hire someone to put all the stuff together. Crazy.
G+_David Wilson
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ its a balance for sure. I am suggesting people be highly skeptical of interning. Ask a lot of questions and even do trial runs. TWiT can't take advantage of a willing person. An intern can be below market though. You can usually find that the market pays for such a jobs. You are just taking the opposite stance. You think the market allows for unpaid interns that have no skill. That maybe be true...but you wont take a person with no skills. If you did you would take the first people who walked in your door. So its just a bit down towards my view on the scale by the nature of hiring skilled workers. As I said if they approach a skill set of the lowest paid employee they are now in a different market.?
G+_Josh Frye
Just throwing another two cents in here, to all those that are not thinking about the fact many unpaid internships are part of a college students course load. Aka the Co op internship. That is what spurred my internship and then since I stuck around and was willing to learn and do " additional duties as apply" I received a part time job and then a full time job. But I took the co op course when I was getting my associates and I could take another one if I wanted at the four year school where I am getting my BA in Information Technology.
