  "It's just a chromebook"

I don't know what makes it so irritating, but everytime I hear a tech journalist describing it as "just a chromebook", I have to repress the urge to yell out something at the computer.

The problem is that either I see too much, or they see too little in it... and besides, what does "it's just a chromebook" mean anyways?

let's see, what do I do with a computer these days?

- I keep on top of my social media,

- I do email stuff,

- I browse the web,

- I watch YouTube,

- I write documents,

- I edit and then store images and videos,

- I play games,

- I watch TV,

- I listen to the radio.

Can I do all that in a chromebook? Heck yeah! And it's a machine with a proper keyboard that sells under 300 bucks.

Yes it is a browser, but it is a hardware browser, and today a browser lets you do everything you want to do.

Not to mention that it is always, always up to date with the latest software. When was the last time your expensive iPad got updated?

So, again, what do they mean when they say "it's just a Chromebook"?

There is Ericom AccessToGo RDP client which can connect to either regular RDP on LAN or "Blaze" on LAN/WAN. Chrome Remote Desktop also works as long as UDP responses and NAT-Traversal are enabled. Those both work on "just" Chrome as well.
