G+_Travis Hershberger
Been, I wooded which of the online office offerings Synology is using? My guess is either LibrrOfficeOnline or OnlyOffice. Either way, probably only online, but download the file and you can edit it locally.
G+_Jason Perry
I want to completely ditch the cloud, but I like the ecosystems Microsoft and Google have. I can ditch the cloud on my desktop, but mobile office apps are what keep me from exclusively using my Synology NAS.
G+_Travis Hershberger
You can run your own version of an online office environment through Collabora or OnlyOffice, both of them have a Docker container available that makes it easy to deploy. G+_Ben Reese
How does Synology Office store the documents? If they're stored as something like DOCX or ODS, is there any reason you couldn't use use a mobile office suite that supports webdav, SFTP, or SMB? G+_Jared Twomey
I would love to find a solution for this as well. As far as I can tell you can only access them via a web browser.

G+_Travis Hershberger
A tutorial on how to integrate NextCloud and Collabora (Libre Office Online): mangolassi.it - How to install Collabora Online in Nextcloud tutorial video Not quite exactly what you want, but a good resource for you. G+_Peter Hanse
Other way is using their cloud sync and any office app you want such as open office. This will keep local copy in sync with Synology.
