G+_Jason Perry
Odd question. Is there a way of disallowing Synology's Quick Connect service from your home IP address?
G+_Jeff Gros
I don't use quick connect, but couldn't you do it at the firewall?
G+_Jeff Gros
Oh wait...Does quick connect actually use synology as a proxy? Or is it just for the initial connection and point to point after the fact? You can tell I don't use quick connect. I don't remember the details, but I felt a bit squeemish with Synology as the middle man. I know Padre and others are super hot on quick connect because you don't have to leaved ports open, but I just leave ports "open" with a white list! :)
G+_Richard Evans
If I have understood the question correctly, I would say, not to enable it in the first place. Thus, Synology would not know how to connect to your NAS.
G+_Marco van Laerhoven
If you want to use quickconnect from outside your home network and disable clients from within your network to connect you can simply setup a rule in the Synology Firewall (you did enable this when you setup QuickConnect I hope) to disallow any local traffic by specifying the IP range of your home network - e.g. 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.
