G+_Jason Perry
Ben Reese?, I have meaning to ask, besides removing the adds, are there any differences between torque and torque pro
G+_John Hillen
I bought pro for the data backup ability
G+_Ben Reese
John Hillen <- what he said. I'm pretty sure you can't log with the free, and there's just something cool about being able to log your trips. It will mix data from your phone (GPS coordinates, acceleration, speed...) with the data from the OBD which you can later graph or analyze. Like, correlating misfire counts with RPM or engine load or speed. And there's some "fun" stuff that I don't remember being in the free version (I haven't used the free for a long time though). Like automatic counters measuring 0-60 MPH, 0-100 KPH, ¼ mile, ? Mile, Horsepower... Anyhow... If you just want to check the codes or get some immediate information, free is great. If want to log, graph, etc; I'd say it's worth the price.
G+_Ben Reese
This Webserver is something else I want to setup. Only problem is that it doesn't support HTTPS last I checked, so I'd only be willing to set it up on VPN.
G+_Jason Perry
Will it run in the background or do I have to start it every time I start my car?
G+_Ben Reese
It should run in the background, but I don't leave it running if I'm not in the car. My Bluetooth OBD2 reconnect real smoothly and I have to re-enter the pairing pin each time it connects. I chalk it up to being a Chinese mass-produced device. The MAC is even something generic like 00:11:22:33:AA:BB:CC.
G+_Jason Perry
Just purchased but haven't had much time to play. So far I haven't had to re-pair it. But I think I need an NFC tag to launch Pocketcast, Waze, and torque, when I hop in the car.
